Handcrafted Cowrie Shell Earrings

Cowrie Shell earrings carry the ancient energy of India and are probably one of the first yonic symbols.  The name is believed to come from Kauri, a pre-Vedic version of the Goddess in India.   They are still revered in India as magical jewelry for averting the evil eye.  In many ancient cultures it also signifies rebirth and the female Gate of Life, dating back as far as 20,000 B.C.E.
